Our Services

Our Core Programs & Services

Empowering rural communities through sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and healthcare.

I. Livelihood & Women Empowerment

1. Cow Bank Initiative

125 Beneficiaries • 11 Villages

Agriculture forms the backbone of rural India. For rural women, owning a cow is a life-changing milestone. By milking a single cow twice a day, families generate steady income, secure nutritious milk for their children, and use cow dung as cooking fuel or rich organic manure.

Our Impact: From 2013 to 2018, our Cow Bank Project successfully transformed the lives of 125 women across 11 villages in Denkanikottai Taluk, at least doubling their daily income. Many have seen their livestock multiply, paving the path to true financial independence. We are actively planning to scale and revitalize this proven, sustainable model.

2. Professional Tailoring Classes

Skill Training • Loan Assistance

GHEDS firmly believes that targeted skill training is the key to women's empowerment. Our tailoring project provides comprehensive sewing and advanced embroidery training, opening up vital alternative career pathways for local women.

Our Reach: Training is hosted at the Jeeva Jyothi Trust Campus (Sampath Nagar) and across 4 specialized batches at the Arokiyam Life Orientation Trust (A LOT) in Kamagiri, Bethamugilalam Hills. To turn skills into business, successful graduates receive a sewing machine on loan via local Self-Help Group (SHG) norms, helping them start home businesses or secure employment in garment factories.

II. Environmental Sustainability

Sustainable Agriculture

Chemical pesticides and non-organic fertilizers harm our soils. We actively advocate for modern, Eco-friendly techniques, encouraging local farmers to shift toward organic manures. Additionally, we promote bee-keeping projects to improve natural cross-pollination and boost local crop yields.

Community Hygiene & Clean Drives

To combat poor drainage and litter in target villages, GHEDS drives health awareness campaigns alongside local youth and SHGs. We organize community clean drives and promote backyard kitchen gardens to effectively recycle wastewater into fresh, home-grown produce.

Tree Plantation Campaigns

Deforestation for firewood and timber fuels global warming. To restore local ecosystems, we organize tree plantation campaigns. Partnering with schools and local SHGs, we empower the next generation to plant and nurture saplings within their villages and surrounding areas.

III. Health & Wellness

General Health Screening & Prevention

True community development is impossible without physical well-being. Rural communities face severe health hurdles due to a lack of diagnostics. GHEDS bridges this gap by organizing general health camps to screen for common, critical conditions:

  • Diabetes & Blood Pressure: Early detection and lifestyle counseling to prevent long-term complications.
  • Anemia Management: Focused nutritional guidance for women and children.
  • Vision Testing: Routine screenings to identify and correct sight issues early.

Patients diagnosed with underlying health conditions are directly supported with healthy lifestyle coaching and systematically referred to trusted local healthcare professionals for advanced treatment.
